A Detailed Look at my 2024 Health & Fitness Data
I had a very tough 2024, but here is my health & fitness data review from Garmin watch.
2024 Goal Review
- Kayaking: 100%+ complete my sea kayaking goal, even after I spent a lot time on the river
- Running: 80% complete
- Hiking: only 60% complete
- Gym & Fitness Equipment: 100%+ complete
- I did a lot indoor climbing this year, which was included in this category
Activities
Activities Type
- more hiking and running in the first half year
- more kayaking during the summer months
- not many exercise during November, which was the month we moved
Total Activity Time
- two lowest month: March and November, when I had a hard time in my life
- A lot of time was spent on Water Sports (kayaking)
- Hiking and Gym also occupied quite some time
Total Distance
Health & Fitness
Training Status and VO2 Max
- A lot more strained, recovery, overreaching recent 3 months, as I have been having a really hard time in my life since late October
- The best performance period was from early September to mid October, where my VO2 max once reached 55.
- HRV status matched my physical status, when I got sick or felt not well, the HRV was low and unbalanced
Intensity Minutes
- 7 weeks without reaching 150 min goal in 2024, which was much more than 2023 (only one week without reaching 150 min)
- Average weekly total is 330 min, higher than 2023 (314 min)
- Average weekly moderate, and weekly vigorous are also higher than 2023
- It shows that my life had more up and down in 2024
Resting Heart Rate
- Average Resting Heart Rate is 50 bpm, lower than 2023 (51).
- Average Resting Heart Rate was lower at the beginning of 2024, but went up in March, April, Jun, Nov, etc. Basically it matches with my life status, when I have less stress, and a more peaceful life, my average resting heart rate is lower.
Steps
- Average daily steps and weekly steps are both higher than 2023
Stress
- Average Stress Level is higher than 2023 (which is 29), and it has many peaks, compared to 2023.
- I think 2024 was a stressful year for me, I went through too much.
Calories
- Weekly Average Total is less than 2023, the reason: there were several day's data missing in August, when I lost my Garmin Watch in the ocean...
Sleep
- Average Weekly Sleep Duration is 7h 46m, almost 30 minutes less than 2023. Only one week sleep met the need
- Average weekly bedtime is 12:06 AM, 10 min past 2023's bed time.
Progress Summary
Last Year
- total distance in 2024 is slightly less than 2023
- total activity time is similar than 2023 (9 hours more)
- Water Sports (sea kayaking and whitewater kayaking) got the most mileage, 500+ miles, 50% more than 2023
Running
- running more times than 2023, but less distance and hours than 2023
Gym & Fitness
- less gym visit, but more time in the gym in 2024, probably due to climbing
Kayaking
- less sea kayaking activities than 2023, but it doesn't including whitewater kayaking
Whitewater
- 33 times whitewater kayaking laps
Hiking
- less hiking activities, but slightly more total distance than 2023. Overall, hiking is still not often enough.
